Transfer
Copy the content and records your old system makes available, then check them in the new academy.
Migration
Own Your Academy / 05Moving from a course platform or learning management system (LMS)? We check what can transfer, agree what needs rebuilding and plan the switch to Own Your Academy with you.
Connected services: payment provider and other tools.
Your brand.
Your way of working.
What can move depends on your current tools and the information they let you take out. Open a section to see what we check before agreeing the work.
We check your lessons, text, images and downloads, along with how the course is organized. Videos may stay with your current video service or need to move. Some features from the old platform may need a different setup.
We check which names, contact details, course access and customer history can be copied. Students may need to activate an account or set a password because the old system may not let passwords move safely.
We check who is enrolled and which completion records can be moved. Some platforms do not let you export progress for every lesson, so we need to confirm what is available.
We review client details, coaching programs, forms and upcoming sessions. Past appointments and calendar history may not all be available to move.
We check your forms and saved responses. Responses may be copied where available, while some forms need to be built again in the new academy.
We check your members, groups and the discussions you want to keep. Your old provider may limit which posts, comments, reactions or attachments can be moved.
We review upcoming events, booking types, available times and future appointments. Older booking and calendar records may have different limits.
We check your certificate requirements and completion records. Certificates remain awards from your academy; moving them does not give them outside accreditation.
We review your offers, prices, purchases and who should have access. Recurring payments need a separate check of your payment provider, account ownership and what the old services let us change. We do not copy card details or payment passwords.
We agree which pages to move or rebuild, and where old links should send people. We create your academy’s pages rather than promise an exact copy of another provider’s templates.
We look at what each automatic step or connection does for your business. Some can be set up again; others may need replacing or simplifying. We check support for your specific tools first.
We check each area first. Your plan then lists what we will move, rebuild or leave behind.
Three ways forward
Copy the content and records your old system makes available, then check them in the new academy.
Create forms, pages or other parts again when they cannot be copied across usefully.
Set up the steps, settings and tool connections to work in your new academy.
Moving your content is one part of setting up your academy. We work through these steps with you so the important details are checked before the switch.
Look at your tools, content and customer records.
Decide where things go and how to move them.
Get the new academy ready before moving records.
Copy the available records and rebuild the agreed parts.
Check the records, content and important customer tasks.
Switch to the new academy when the agreed checks are done.
03 / Business continuity
Your students still need their courses, and your clients still have sessions booked. We plan around those commitments, as well as payments, messages and your team’s daily work.
We agree when to switch over and explain any expected downtime. We also plan when it makes sense to stop using the old system.
04 / Working together
We plan the move, prepare the new academy, copy or rebuild the agreed items and help check the results. Your proposal lists the work included.
Show us the tools you use and the information you need to keep. Give us the agreed access or exported files, explain how you work and help check the new academy.
That is common. You may have courses in one place, bookings in another and customer records in spreadsheets. We look at how they work together before deciding what to move and which services to keep.
You may have duplicate records, old forms or offers you no longer sell. We can review what is worth keeping and agree any cleanup work before the move.
We agree what customer information is needed and how you should provide it. That includes the access and files needed to prepare, move and check your records.
The destination
Keep the courses and ways of working that serve your business well. Use the move to improve the parts that make life harder for you or your customers.
